What do I first need to do as an admin on Cakewalk?
Last updated: November 24, 2025
To get Cakewalk ready for your team, do two things: import users and import apps.
Import Users
• Go to Settings → Data Sources → Users • Select your HRIS or IdP
• Authenticate with an admin account that can read user profiles, reporting lines and groups
• Approve the requested permissions and start the sync
If you can’t connect an HRIS or IdP yet, share a user list with your onboarding team for a one-time import.
Import Apps
• After your first user import, connect Google Workspace or Microsoft Entra ID to pull apps
• Authenticate with an admin account that can read enterprise apps, OAuth grants and sign-in logs
• Review imported apps in App Governance → Discovered Apps and set status (Managed, Tracked, Restricted, Ignored)
Notes
• Cakewalk automatically discovers apps from your IdP where supported • Use the HRIS & IdP connections pages in the docs for setup details
