What are Cakewalk User Groups?

Last updated: December 4, 2025

Cakewalk User Groups are groups that reflect your org structure, such as departments, locations, or teams, based on data from your HRIS or IdP. They’re used to automate access: you can assign apps to groups so that users get (or lose) access automatically when they join or leave a group.

It’s important to decipher a Cakewalk user group vs. a synced user group. Cakewalk user groups are created in Cakewalk and remain there, whereas synced groups are pulled from your HRIS or IdP.
